What are eyelash extensions?
They are synthetic extensions that complement your own eyelashes. Depending on your personal preference and after our thorough professional review, the extensions are applied to each individual natural eyelash or in clusters. Natural lashes will be lengthened and thickened. Perfect for every single occasion!
How should I prepare for my eyelash extension appointment?
Ideally, keep eyelashes clean and mascara-free when you come in for your appointment. Please do not perm or curl your eyelashes also. We strongly advise not getting extensions done if you have an eye infection or have undergone eye surgery/operation recently.
How do I choose the look I want?
At Flutters we offer feather light lash extensions with variations in thickness, length, curl and colour for a truly unique look. a) Choose a Volume Plan (40, 60, 90, above 90 lashes) b) Choose the Lash Curl (J, B, C, D, L) c) Choose a Lash Style d) Choose Silk or Faux Mink Lash Still unsure about what look you’re after? We’re here to help you decide!
How long is each session?
A new full set application will take approximately 60-75min. Retouch will take about 20-45min. Removal will require less than 20min.
What is the procedure like?
After lying down comfortably on a flat massage bed, eye gel patches will be placed under your eyes to keep lower lashes in place. The lash stylist will meticulously isolate each single strand of eyelash and extend it individually. It can be unnerving at first, but within minutes you’ll feel completely relaxed, and dreamland beckons! Neither the glue nor the extension should be in contact with skin.
How long can my new set of eyelash extensions last?
When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone’s experience will differ based on day-to-day activities but retouch should only be required after 2 or 3 weeks.
When should I get a Retouch?
We recommend getting a touch up every 2 to 3 weeks. Natural eyelashes fall off every 45 – 60 days due to the natural growth cycle hence some extensions may need to be removed as they have outgrown and appear messy. Lash extensions that have dropped off are also filled in. A retouch helps keep lash extensions looking spanking new, fresh and neat.
Do eyelash extensions make my own lashes fall out?
It may appear that you are losing some of your own lashes but fret not. Each day we can lose 3-5 natural lashes, but often they fall out unnoticed but when eyelash extensions are applied, we are more aware of the shedding as they are longer, darker and thicker than our own lashes. Like your hair, eyelashes also have a cycle and are constantly being replaced. Our natural lashes take normally 6-8 weeks to regenerate.
Can I wear eye makeup after getting my extensions?
Yes, but you probably won’t need mascara or even eyeliner, but you can still use them as usual but do remember to remove with a product that is glycol/oil-free as this will affect the glue adhesion. When removing eye makeup, wet a cotton wipe with eye make-up remover and gently remove eye shadow in a sweeping upward movement away from the eyelash extensions. Wiping down towards the lashes will cause a build up of makeup on the extensions. Nuh-uh! Gross! *diva finger snaps*
Can I curl / perm eyelash extensions?
There is absolutely no need for that. If u ever feel that you need a stronger curl, try our D curl. *beams*
Is the eyelash glue and glue remover safe?
Over here we use high grade Japanese glue and glue remover and great care is taken to ensure that they do not come in contact with your skin and eyes so do be assured.
How do I remove my eyelash extensions?
Do make an appointment with us and we can remove them for you. Non-stinging glue remover will be applied to loosen the adhesion. We assure you that no lashes will be harmed.
